Fotolove.com is now listed on Google.

I put a link from my blog to to fotolove.com. And sure enough 3 days later after this post “Google friendliness” the site got listed by google. ;-)

I have implemented a number of features for FotoLove.com to increase its ranking at google. I will be watching my IIS log files closely to see how these changes impacted the depth and breath of google crawl.

The rest of the features that are not yet implemented are on fotolove Wiki site under Google Friendliness.

Added commenting feature to www.fotolove.com

Now anyone can comment on any pictures. This was one of the core features that was needed for beta.
There a few more core features left to do:

High Priority: (blocking beta release)

Some minimum admin pages to delete pictures and photographers.
Add Asp.net forum so that people can have a discussion.
User quotas. Currently there is no limit on the number of pictures that users can upload
Wiki site for documentation and writing feature and design specifications
Verify email address and send forgotten password
Security review of the code

Medium Priority: (nice to have for beta release)

Move pictures from one category to another
Taxonomy of categories for photos
Ability to create new categories with the Upload tool.
Ability to add title and descriptions in the upload tool
Reorganize and clean up the source code.
Make the source code public

Low Priority: (not essential for beta release)

UI redesign
Scalability and performance optimization
Add a Blog engine to the site.

Making more progress. I have added more cross linkage betwween the page to help with navigation around the site. But it still needs more work.

2 sites: www.fotolove.com and a replica site inside my company corporate net.

They continue to report bugs and I slowly fix them at night. The functionality is pretty basic but at least there are not many blocking bugs left. There is one open security issue that I have not addressed and it worries me. Hopefully no one will discover it until I get a chance to fix it.
